Cookie Policy
Last Updated: August 2026
At Malsain (accessible via https://malsain.com), this Cookie Policy explains what cookies are, which categories this site uses, and how to switch off the ones that are not essential.
Cookies are what let a cart survive the walk from one coat to the next without emptying itself. They also tell us which parts of a listing get read, which is genuinely how we decide what to rewrite. Neither of those uses involves selling anything about you.
By continuing to use our website you agree to the use of cookies as described below. If you would like to know more about a specific cookie before deciding, email us at support@malsain.com.
Cookies at a Glance
| Item | Our Standard |
|---|---|
| How many categories | Three in use, plus one we deliberately do not use |
| What they are for | Keeping the cart working, remembering preferences, counting page views |
| Advertising cookies | Not used, and no cross-site trackers |
| Who else sets them | PayPal at checkout and our analytics provider |
| Your control | Everything except the essential category can be turned off in your browser |
| Detail | See the table below for what each category covers |
What Cookies Are
A cookie is a small text file a website stores in your browser. It lets the site recognize the same browser between one page and the next, which is what keeps you signed in, keeps your cart intact, and stops the site treating every click as a first visit.
Types of Cookies We Use
| Category | What It Does | Can You Turn It Off |
|---|---|---|
| Essential | Holds your cart contents, keeps your session alive, and carries you through checkout | No. The site cannot function without these |
| Analytics | Counts page views and general traffic patterns so we can see which pages get read and which get skipped | Yes, through your browser settings |
| Functional | Remembers preferences such as recently viewed pieces | Yes, through your browser settings |
| Marketing | Nothing. We do not run advertising cookies or cross-site trackers | Not applicable |
Third-Party Cookies
PayPal sets its own cookies during checkout to process the payment and reduce fraud, and our analytics provider sets cookies to count visits. Those cookies are governed by their own policies rather than this one. What we do with the information that reaches us afterwards is described in our Privacy Policy.
How Long Cookies Last
Session cookies are deleted the moment you close the browser. Persistent cookies stay for a set period, typically between thirty days and two years depending on their purpose, and you can clear all of them at any time through your browser.
Managing and Disabling Cookies
Every major browser lets you block or delete cookies through its settings, usually under a privacy or site data heading. Turning off analytics and functional cookies leaves the site fully usable and simply makes our traffic figures less complete. Turning off essential cookies will stop the cart and checkout from working, so we would rather warn you here than have you discover it at the payment step.
Changes to This Policy
If the cookies we use change, this page is updated with a new date so the categories above always reflect what is actually running.
